Product Engineer
About Qurrent
At Qurrent, we’re accelerating the transition to a renewable energy future by transforming distributed energy resources, such as batteries, solar, and wind, into flexible, revenue-generating assets. Our AI-driven virtual power plant platform optimizes assets in real-time to deliver maximum value to our customers and the grid.
We’re ambitious, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and value individuals who are driven by challenges and eager to push boundaries.
The Role
Our customer interfaces are rapidly evolving from “dashboards” to critical operating surfaces: the place customers plan, operate, and understand their fleets. We’re hiring our first in-house front-end developer to own this experience end-to-end.
We have a working product in production. Your job is to take it to the next level: evolve the features, service new types of customers and obsess over interaction quality, performance, and accessibility. That means you need to care about the product, not just the code and your work will directly shape a product that’s becoming more integral to our business every month.
AI-native ways of working are central to this role. We expect you to be deeply proficient with AI-assisted development: using tools like Claude Code or similar to multiply your output. You think in terms of agentic workflows, you are proficient in engineering good context, and you ship faster because of it.
What You'll Do
Own the front-end end-to-end: customer portal, energy dashboards, and internal tools
Build data visualizations for energy flows, trading performance, and device status
Design and implement RESTful APIs in Go alongside our backend engineers
Make product decisions day to day: prioritize what to build, how it should work, and what to skip
Drive interaction quality, performance, and accessibility across the platform
Use AI tools extensively to accelerate development, prototyping, and iteration
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
Strong proficiency in React/Next.js and TypeScript in a production environment
Demonstrated AI-native workflow: you actively use agentic coding tools and can articulate how they change the way you work
Product taste and business sense: you think about why you're building something, not just how. You understand that features exist to solve customer problems and drive business outcomes.
Experience building data-rich UIs: dashboards, charts, real-time updates, complex state
Strong fundamentals in HTML, CSS (Tailwind CSS), and modern JavaScript
Comfortable working autonomously in a small, fast-moving team
Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity with design tools (Figma) and ability to go from rough concept to polished UI without a dedicated designer
Exposure to energy, IoT, or infrastructure domains
Experience with Go or willingness to learn: you’ll be designing and shipping API endpoints, not just consuming them
Interest in data visualization libraries (ECharts or similar)
What We Offer
Real ownership from day one: you own the front-end, shape the product
Small team, low bureaucracy, high trust: you ship things that matter every week
A mission that matters: helping stabilize the grid and enabling the energy transition
